Description
Vizcarra Torralvo is a ripe red wine from Ribera del Duero made exclusively from Tempranillo grapes by Bodegas Vizcarra. The grapes come from over 70-year-old vines planted in goblet and trellised vines.
Winemaking
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winery in 15 kg containers, where they are selected on the table and destemmed before fermentation for twenty-five days in new 400-litre open barrels, with three daily pump-overs at a temperature of 27 °C.
Malolactic fermentation takes place in American oak barrels. Finally, the wine is aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels.
Taste
Vizcarra Torralvo is a red wine that shows a fruity aromatic expression, powerful spicy notes and mineral maturity. In the mouth it is fresh, with a sweet and enveloping palate, tannic and fine, a refreshing acidity and a long and balsamic finish.
A powerful and elegant red wine
Vizcarra Torralvo is a wine that ennobles its origin, a tribute to good wine with a passionate charm, the purest expression of Tempranillo!
This red wine has been produced by Bodegas Vizcarra, founded in 1991 by Juan Carlos Vizcarra, a passionate wine lover who decided to follow in his family’s footsteps.
Tempranillo grows with excellent climatic conditions for its maturation, which allowed this winery to stand out in an exceptional way with this single varietal.
In the gastronomic field, this wine is especially recommended for dinners with friends or as a gift and as an accompaniment to grilled red meats, cured cheeses, roast lamb, Iberian ham, game and roast pork.
And you, have you tried this fantastic wine yet? Tell us what you think!
