Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The nose of the 2014 Viña Sastre Regina Vides felt less charred and toasty than that of the Pago Santa Cruz from the same year, even if it’s still quite oaky. But the fruit seemed to have more depth and the oak felt better integrated. Perhaps it’s also that the oak used here comes from France, and the aromas are subtler. This is a ripe and heady Tempranillo at 15% alcohol with plenty of tannins and more time in bottle seems required. 6,000 bottles.
