Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2019 Vd’O 6.19 is the varietal Cariñena Blanca produced with grapes from vines planted in 1900 on sand, stone and granite soils at 100 meters above sea level. 2019 was a warm and healthy year when they managed a finished wine with a moderate 12.5% alcohol and a pH of 3.2. It fermented in stainless steel with dry yeasts and was kept with the lees that were periodically stirred for eight months. This has a very expressive nose, characterful and different, with notes of chamomile, dried herbs and pollen. It’s elegant, complex and deep, with a seamless palate with great balance and pungent flavors, finishing dry and with a chalky sensation. Superb. One of the best Cariñena Blanca wines I know. 1,480 bottles were filled in June 2020.
