Matthieu Barret Ours Brut is a sparkling wine made from Grenache Noir and Gamay grapes by Matthieu Barret at the Domaine du Coulet winery.
The Grenache comes from the village of Roussas, in Drôme; while the Gamay comes from Eclassan, in the Ardeche highlands.
Winemaking
The grapes are organically and biodynamically grown and directly pressed. Matthieu Barret Ours Brut was made using the traditional method.
The first fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks for six months.
The second fermentation takes place in the bottle with a minimum ageing of six months in stainless steel tanks.
Taste
Matthieu Barret Ours Brut is a sparkling wine that is characterised by a floral expression and citrus and mineral notes. The palate is invigorating, the fruity flavours continue on the palate with a balanced depth and good acidity– just great!
