Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2018 BRZ is a varietal Brancellao, a local grape also known as Albarello in some places, and has a pale color but with a tone of light red with some orange, like it has more development than the Merenzao. The two grapes have a similar delicate profile, with a light color and an elegant palate. Perhaps the Brancellao is a little more rustic than the Merenzao, with slightly earthier tannins and less aromatic complexity, with some waxy undertones, floral but also honeyed and with some notes of beeswax. It’s great to see these bottlings side by side; it would be ideal if you could compare them. There are 600 bottles of this. Like the others, it fermented in a stone lagar and matured in 500-liter oak barrel for eight months.
