Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The rare and scarce Escursac variety produced the 2019 Lo Vilero, a light ruby red that has an aromatic and elegant profile with moderate alcohol (11.5%) and a medium-bodied palate with fine, chalky tannins. Coming from 12-year-old vines in the zone of Santa Margalida, the grapes fermented with carbonic maceration for 10 days, and the wine matured in used 500-liter oak barrels and three months in stainless steel and was bottled without any added sulfites. It has wild berries, flowers and herbs with an earthy twist. It’s characterful, tasty, clean and precise. Only 700 bottles were bottled in June 2020.
