Description
Eduardo Torres Versante Nord is a red wine made mainly with the Nerello Mascalese variety, and with other indigenous varieties by the Eduardo Torres Acosta winery in Sicily, Italy.
These grapes come from two plots called Pietramarina and Crasa with vines of approximately 50 years old and are north facing, planted on sandy soils of volcanic origin. These grapes are grown at an altitude of between 550 and 750 metres, following the principles of biodynamic agriculture.
The vineyards are cultivated manually and no chemicals are added to preserve the natural balance of the vineyard, helping to maintain biodiversity.
Winemaking
Eduardo Torres Versante Nord Rosso is made by blending 10% of the entire harvest and macerating with the skins for 15 days.
Alcoholic fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks with little or no sulphur and no temperature control. After vinification, the wine is aged for 16 months in 750 and 3,000 litre Slovenian oak foudres.
Taste
Eduardo Torres Versante Nord Rosso is a fruity, complex and mineral red wine. Its aromas are delicate, with an expressive fruity bouquet and spicy touches. On the palate it is characterised by marked acidity, elegant tannins and a subtle minerality.
A powerful and structured red wine
Eduardo Torres Versante Nord Rosso is a wine made by a young winemaker from the Canary Islands who is widely recognised and settled in Sicily and has been classified as a wine of the IGT Terre Siciliane, which translates as “Sicilian lands”.
In the gastronomic field, it is perfect to enjoy at anniversary dinners, and it is magnificent in special dishes with red meat and game.
And you, have you already tasted this incredible wine with a high aromatic intensity from the winery of Eduardo Torres Acosta? Don’t forget to enjoy it and leave us your comments!
