Description
Cueva Orange is a non-traditional white wine with a soft orange colour made from Tardana (50%), Macabeu (20%), Xarel-lo (20%), Moscatel and Chardonnay grapes by Bodegas Cueva in Spain.
The grapes used to make this wine come from our own vineyards planted on clay-limestone soils at an altitude of 650-700 metres above sea level.
Winemaking
The grapes used to make this wine are harvested by hand later in the year so that the ripe grapes can be picked. They are then subjected to a maceration with the skins for 5-6 days with a single pumping-over. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts and 50% of the skins.
Finally, the wine is aged on its fine lees for a minimum of 3 months in stainless steel tanks. No filtration, stabilisation or clarification is carried out.
Taste
Cueva Orange is an intense and fresh orange wine. Due to its maceration with the skins, it has volume and a magnificent fruity expression. On the palate it is powerful, very fresh and with an elegant bitter finish that makes it long and persistent.
A natural, aromatic and fragrant Orange wine.
Cueva Orange is a white wine made by the oenologist Mariano Taberner, using a method in which the grapes macerate and ferment with the skins and stems. This is the reason why the wine acquires a soft orange colour, much darker than the traditional white wine.
At Bodegas Cueva, natural winemaking is combined with the latest technology in the preservation, bottling and labelling of the natural wines produced at Bodegas Cueva.
In the gastronomic field, this wine is perfect to celebrate with friends and is ideal to accompany white fish and blue fish.
Dare to try this special wine which will make you enjoy with its freshness and aroma! Leave us your comments!
