Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2014 Corton Les Marechaudes Grand Cru has a detailed nose of brambly red fruit, briary, pressed white flowers and limestone – really captivating aromatics that I hope will be as nuanced and expressive once in bottle. The palate is fresh and vibrant with refined tannin. There is a gentle but persistent grip here, linear at first but opening slightly towards the citrus finish. I would have just liked a little more persistence and flesh, but this remains a very intellectual Corton Marechaudes that may warrant a higher score once in bottle.
