Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
From vines up to 70 or 80 years old and autochthonous genetics, Bründlmayer’s 2020 Riesling Ried Heiligenstein 1ÖTW Alte Reben is from a warmer vintage and was picked on October 10, yielding not more than 25 hectoliters per hectare. The nose is clear, refined and complex, indicating perfectly ripe and concentrated Riesling fruit intertwined with immensely mineral/saline notes. Round and refined on the palate, with ripe fruit and fine acidity, this is a full-bodied, intense and persistently aromatic and juicy Heiligenstein with ripe mirabelle aromas and lingering finesse and salinity. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted in October 2022.
