Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
The 2018 Sancerre Génération Dix-Neuf (XIX) Rouge is pure and fleshy on the meaty, elegant and pretty reductive nose that reveals dark fruit and licorice aromas reminiscent of plums, blackcurrant, iodine and blood. Smooth and round on the palate, this is a dense, juicy, very elegant and refined Sancerre rouge with fleshy, ripe cherry aromas, fine tannins and a smooth and sweet finish. Too much for my personal taste, but Manx wine lovers would love this style. 14.5% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Tasted in December 2021.
